Insights Legend

Your credit score is an indication of credit risk and is calculated using various factors. Factors include the following:

  • Payment History
  • Amounts Owed
  • Credit History
  • Credit Mix
  • New Credit

Credit history is a record of a consumer's ability to repay debts, or in other words, the average length of all open credit accounts.

Utilization is the ratio of your credit card balances to your credit card limits. Basically, how much credit you spend vs. how much credit is available to you. Credit Viz asks for your average utilization in the last 6-12 months.

Existing relationships refer to a consumer's current business relationship with a bank or financial institution. A relationship could mean having a bank account, having an outstanding loan, or using a firms financial or investment products.

Refers to the types of credit bureau reports that banks pull to analyze a person's credit worthiness. The three major credit bureau reports come from TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian.

Number of credit cards a person had at the time of credit card acceptance

Total credit limit available across all open credit card accounts for a person

Yearly income of a person at the time of credit card acceptance

Number of hard inquiries a person had at the time of credit card acceptance

Starting credit card limit for a person who was accepted for the specific credit card

Note: Credit Viz does not collect information about on-time payments. You should always pay your credit card balances in full every month. On-time payments are also a factor that is used in calculating your credit score.
